Dussehra is also called as Vijayadashmi and is one of the most desired festival of Hindus and is widely celebrated all over the India with great fervor and fanfare. Dussehra coincides with the culmination of the 9th day Navratri festival and marks the triumph of Rama over the 10 headed demon king Ravana, who abducted Rama's wife Sita. The festival is the most significant feature of Dussehra Celebration. Effigies of Ravana often along with those of Meghnanda and Kumbhkaran are stuffed with firecrackers and set ablaze at night in open fiels signifying the triumph of good over evil.

It celebrates the victory of lord Vishnu (Narasimha) over Hiranakashyap which signifies the triumph of good over evil. It also celebrates the divine and eternal love of Radha Krishna. Holi is originated and is predominantly celebrated in India but has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent. Holi celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love and for many it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. The festival also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season.
